Planning Permission & Building Regulations

Re-roofing in matching materials is generally Permitted Development and doesn't need planning permission. Switching to a visibly different material, or working on a listed building or in a conservation area, may require consent — we'll flag this before work starts. Building Regulations apply to most re-roofing work, particularly around insulation standards where more than a small area is being re-covered. We handle the Building Control notification as part of the job.

Roofing FAQs

How do I know if I need a repair or a full replacement?

Isolated issues like a slipped tile or a small leak are usually a repair. Widespread damage, sagging, recurring leaks, or a roof past its expected lifespan generally make full replacement better value over time — we'll give you a straight answer after survey.

How long does a re-roof take?

A standard semi-detached re-roof typically takes 5–10 working days, weather permitting.

Can you help with a storm damage insurance claim?

Yes — we can provide a written report and photographs of the damage to support your claim.

Do I need planning permission to replace my roof?

Usually not, if you're using matching materials. Different materials, listed buildings or conservation areas can change this — we'll check before quoting.

Got a leak, a few slipped tiles, or a roof that's simply had enough?
